Rest Day

Rest up, maybe even enjoy a salt bath

The various Games days & the CrossFit Games in the U.S.A is a competition that is growing at a rapid pace. I've heard many opinions on the impact the games will have on CrossFit as a General Physical Preparedness (GPP)program. I'm curious to hear if you have any thoughts?? Do you think the games will have a positive or negative impact on CrossFit? or no impact at all?

  1. The increase of games days and the CrossFit games will develop CrossFit into it's own sport. That changes it from a GPP program, to something people will want to specialize in, like Spealler says in the video from Tahoe, people will specialize in CrossFit. If this will have a positive or negative impact is impossible to say, but it will change CrossFit for sure. But then again, CrossFit has probably developed a lot since it started already, and it will continue to do so for a while.

  2. Thanks for the comment Kim, I have similar views. One thing I know for sure is that CrossFit is an exciting thing to be a part of right now.

  3. Rob at Norwest touched on the subject today as well in today's blog:

  4. Positive
CrossFit will still require all athletes to increase accuracy with wall balls and KTE etc, increase agility with box jumps and burpees,
    increase balance with pistol squats,
increase co-ordination with etc etc etc
    Competition just raises the bar.
With a 78 year old lady at CFP readying herself for competition in a few weeks i would be confident that her GPP will improve even more in that time along with anyone else that is competiting.
