1. How every WOD started with applause and ended with everyone cheering on each athlete all the way over the finish line!
2. Meeting stacks of people from other box’s and catching up with people who i have met at previous events.
3. Being the last to finish WOD 3 and having everyone cheer me on to finish my last 10 or so reps. I've never had that experience before and it's such a highlight for me.
When the crossfitters started showing up the butterflies in my stomach just accumulated. As it was my first games day I was nervous as HELL !! But once I completed my 1st WOD I felt like this is AWESOME. Seeing everyone there going for it, giving there all, there mates cheering them on I thought this is really COOL. My highlight was definately the third WOD both female & male. The atmosphere in the box was just electrifying especialy having our own V & Shane doing us proud. A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to Glenn & Jody for a job well done & THANKS HEAPS guys & the rest of the CFP team for all your support. Looking forward to the next games day .....
1. Watching Crossfit Penrith athletes go and do their utmost to leave no doubt that they are into this thing. 2. Being part of the Crossfit Penrith team. 3. Swapping stories and tips with some of the affiliates during the day. 4. Watching every heat 11 and 12 and the finals 5. Watching the chicks perform kips with a little more technique and less 'muscling up' than the guys. 6. Veronica's burpees on the 1st WOD. Amazing. 7. Russ and Shane on the 2nd WOD. Awesome. 8. What I can only call the Fitzharris Family effort. Really nice work seeing Mum/Daughter then Father/Son go through it together as teams. Really nice work there..
From the XF Actve Team: We would just like to say a massive thank you to the Crossfit Penrith Crew, for all their efforts and putting on a GREAT games day! Also to all the new crossfitters, well done, and we look forward to seeing you at the next games day. Highlights: Great to catch up with the community, as always, a great positive atmostphere, great feed too!
So many highlights from yesterday, but to narrow it down: - Glenn, Kerry and Jody for putting on a smooth running event. Workouts were awesome! - Shane and Veronica for making it through to the top 5. - Belinda for doing WOD 1 as rxd! - Amanda for competing with a bullet sized hole in her leg, and still kicking arse! - The lack of ego's from all crossfit affiliates. Everyone performed to the best of their abilities, and maintained the integrity and community feel that seperates Crossfit from any other sport on earth. Also the non competitors need a special mention, as they are the ones that really push all the athletes beyond what they thought they were capable of. Absolute pleasure representing CFP, and to all other Crossfit affiliates, our doors are always open to any visitors, so come by anytime. Bring on the next event!
My highlights were * the spirit of Crossfit Penrith * brilliant organisation by Glenn, Kerry & Jody * inspiring & motivating performances * being able to take part myself * top 5 shoot out WOD's - awesome
The Atmosphere was such a buzz, it pushed all the nerves aside once we started the WODs and pure adrenalin and determination kicked in (especially when your kids whoop your ass!!! Awsome!!!) from then on. Loved every minute of the day and looking forward to the next one (we are hooked). Massive congrats to every one especially V and Shane Bear. Thankyou Glen Jody and Kerry. Already set myself personal goals to achieve by the end of this year thanks to Queen V being pure inspiration. Adios Lynne and the Fitzy Crew
Firstly I'd like to thank Jody, Glenn & Kerry for putting on such a great day, it just ran so smoothly.
Far out what were my highlights, so many: * Watching everyone turn up and get ready for their 1st WOD * Spending the entire day with so many people that I love and admire, my friends and competitors * Having Courtney and Lynne running with me on WOD 1 * Watching all of my team mates do their utmost best and never give in, I feel so proud of everyone * Seeing the Fitzharris family work as a team, now that's something I aspire for with my family *Really, it's not just what happens during competition, it's also what happens afterwards, the way we all pitched in to bring the box back to the way we all love it, and how we sat around drinking beer, discussing the day, laughing and eating (PS: I do not share donuts). * The recovery session at the pool the next day, that was such a great change, the dinner and laughs afterwards, and then to finish it all off hmmm Cold Rock, Yum!
My highlight of the day: Watching Justine persevere with those ring dips, Justine showed just how tough she really is, now that was inspiring.

Thanks to Glenn, Jody and Kerry things couldn't have run smoother. It was enjoyable day and a pleasure to participate in.
ReplyDeleteAs much as complained about the workouts I loved every minute of them.
Really enjoyed watching the top five both male and female give it everything they had. That was a true vision of athletisim and determination.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again and testing myself once more.
